Actor Shin Goo moved audiences by returning to the stage after his health declined.
Shin Goo previously mentioned the late actor Lee Soon-jae, expressing his special feelings toward his colleague. He left the production during the March 2022 run of the play Last Session due to deteriorating health, and afterward endured a difficult time after being diagnosed with renal failure and receiving a pacemaker implantation.
At the time, he told a YouTube channel, "I am exercising because I want to keep a promise I made to the play's producers. Recovery has been slow, so I am not sure if I can do theater," he said, honestly revealing his feelings, while also showing his determination for the stage by saying, "Walking is getting a little better."
Ultimately, Shin Goo completed the run of the play Waiting for Godot last August and met audiences again. It was more meaningful as a comeback to the stage after a long illness.
Meanwhile, on the afternoon of the 10th, Shin Goo drew attention by attending the press conference for the play "The French Safe" held at Scon Hall 1 in NOL Seokyung Square in Daehak-ro, Jongno-gu, Seoul. When footage of him answering questions on stage was released, a warm atmosphere continued at the scene.
The play "The French Safe," written and directed by Jang Jin, depicts the story that unfolds when characters with different motives and backgrounds gather in an underground vault of a bank under the premise that "if all power goes out at midnight, the vault can be opened."
