Actors Park Sung-woong and Lee Soo-kyung have confirmed their appearances in KBS2's new miniseries "Simwoomyeon Yeonriri," granting a pollution-free healing experience to home viewers.
KBS2's new miniseries "Simwoomyeon Yeonriri" (written by Song Jeong-rim and Wang Hye-ji, directed by Choi Yeon-su, produced by Sim Story) is a rebooting family healing drama about the real city family, the Seong Tae-hoon household, who unexpectedly fall into the pristine deadly(?) area "Yeonriri" and struggle to return to Seoul.
"Simwoomyeon Yeonriri" is directed by Choi Yeon-su, who jointly directed "Pump Up the Healthy Love," "Crazy Love" and "The Manifest," and written by Song Jeong-rim, who wrote "My Merry Marriage," and Wang Hye-ji, who wrote "Romance Without Dating." Adding to this, the trusted actors Park Sung-woong and Lee Soo-kyung play a married couple, further raising interest in the work.
Park Sung-woong plays Seong Tae-hoon, the K-family head who rose to the position of corporate department head on the strength of his abilities but was suddenly reassigned and moved with his family to the rural "Yeonriri." Park Sung-woong wittily depicts Seong Tae-hoon's change as he leaves the city to find true happiness in nature, promising viewers harmless laughter and emotion at the same time. Having proven a wide acting spectrum across various genres such as "A Head Coach's Turnover," "Nonsense," and "National Death Vote," expectations are raised about what energy he will use this time to captivate viewers.
Lee Soo-kyung plays Jo Mi-ryeo, a supermom who raised three sons alone in place of a husband tied to his company. Entering Yeonriri with no farming knowledge or rural living experience, Jo Mi-ryeo faces obstacles beyond imagination and unfolds a chaotic adaptation period. Lee Soo-kyung, who has shown bright and distinctive performances through works such as "Nonsense," "Left-handed Wife" and "What's Wrong with Secretary Kim," draws attention for how she will portray Jo Mi-ryeo's narrative that balances spunk and realistic empathy and the strength she will demonstrate.
After Park Sung-woong and Lee Soo-kyung worked together in KBS's 2024 drama "Nonsense," they meet again as a married couple in this "Simwoomyeon Yeonriri" to show an even more upgraded chemistry.
Regarding this, the production team said, "We are very pleased to be working with the reliable pairing of actors Park Sung-woong and Lee Soo-kyung," noting, "The two actors will amusingly portray the process of finding small but certain happiness in the human-scented village of Yeonriri. It will offer a warm healing and vicarious satisfaction like a 'dopamine detox' to viewers worn out by daily life, so please look forward to it."
Meanwhile, KBS2's new miniseries "Simwoomyeon Yeonriri" is scheduled to premiere on Mar. 3.
