Actress Yoon Son-ha shared an update from Canada, where she is staying with her son who was once embroiled in a school violence controversy.
Yoon Son-ha said on the 8th, "We're always this excited when we meet. Even though we live in the same Vancouver, we don't see each other often, but when we do, it's as if we saw each other yesterday and the world is this joyful again."
She then revealed a meeting with actress Lee Hye-eun, saying, "It was a very long time ago, but sometimes … the subtle emotions that make me think, 'Ah, I used to be an actress,' are the ones I can share only here with Hye-eun unni. She is an actor senior, a life senior, and an unni from whom there is so much to learn; I really like her!"
She also said, "While taking selfies … 'We used to take these a lot back then …,' 'Why is this so awkward?' Then we laughed for a long time … I can't live, really~~~" and added, "We laughed, grew serious, became warm, and laughed again."
She added, "The concept for the day was sky blue. As if by agreement, our clothes were the same color (what a surprise!!), and on the way back the sky I looked up at was a pale sky blue. It was a day that made my heart feel soft and warm."
In the photos she shared, Yoon Son-ha still flaunts her beautiful looks as she takes pictures with Lee Hye-eun.
In 2017, SBS' 8 p.m. news reported that a child who had gone on a school retreat from a private elementary school in Seoul was beaten by four classmates, was diagnosed with rhabdomyolysis and post-traumatic stress disorder, but the accused students, which included the grandson of a chaebol chairman and the son of a famous entertainer, were not punished.
Yoon Son-ha's son was identified as that "son of a famous entertainer," and Yoon Son-ha faced backlash after she issued an official statement through her agency saying the 8 p.m. news report was distorted. She then released a second official apology through her agency acknowledging her wrongdoing.
Through her agency at the time, Yoon Son-ha said, "I bow my head and apologize to the injured child and that family, the school and many others for the events that occurred during our child's school retreat." She added, "I also apologize for putting our family's sense of unfairness first in handling this matter," and bowed again, saying, "I deeply reflect on my behavior that became nothing but excuses in the initial response."
Afterward, Yoon Son-ha left for Canada with her family.
