Entertainer Hong Jin Kyung directly addressed the plastic surgery suspicions surrounding her daughter, Lael.
On the 8th, Hong Jin Kyung posted a screenshot of a conversation with her daughter on her social media and wrote, "Lael reached out. I'm sorry for causing concern. Posting this with Lael's permission."
The controversy began when a recent photo titled "Hong Jin Kyung's daughter" was posted on an online community. In the photo, Lael appeared with a more mature vibe and a changed impression, prompting various speculations. Hong Jin Kyung later released messages with an acquaintance and added, "A fake life, Lael, isn't this fraud at this point?"
In the messages released together, Hong Jin Kyung said, "She's driving me crazy," and emphasized, "It's all edited." She added, "There must be an application that shaves the jawline, raises the nose and even does the makeup. It made her look like a Chinese beauty. I thought it was Fan Bingbing," and corrected the misunderstanding by posting photos showing before and after the edits.
Hong Jin Kyung also shared a direct conversation with her daughter. When Hong Jin Kyung said, "Korea has been in an uproar since yesterday. Because of your photo," Lael replied, "Sorry. But your post (the unedited photo you uploaded) is more serious for me. Right now."
When Hong Jin Kyung said, "Your whole life is fake," Lael shot back, "Mom, let's just hold hands and go on 'a fake life.'" However, Hong Jin Kyung said, "How can you joke right now? People are all shocked. They think a student did such heavy makeup and had plastic surgery," and added, "You should just accept your bare face and live as yourself.
