Group MONSTA X member IM enlisted today (the 9th).
On the afternoon of the 9th, IM entered an army training center and will be assigned to an army unit as an active-duty soldier after completing basic military training.
IM said, "Recently, as we started the world tour, I was so happy to be able to greet MONBEBE (official fan club name) more closely, and I'm glad I was able to leave good memories before enlisting. I will finish my military service in good health and return, so until we meet again I hope MONBEBE takes good care of both body and mind, and I hope you continue to support the members' activities. I love MONBEBE," he said.
IM is the last member of MONSTA X to enlist. With his enlistment, full-group activities will be paused for a while, but MONSTA X will continue meeting fans through various activities, including the world tour.
IM, who debuted with MONSTA X in 2015, has demonstrated his outstanding abilities in many areas, including group activities, songwriting, composing, producing and MCing. He not only participated in writing and composing from the debut album to complete MONSTA X's intense musical color, but also led the group's successful global expansion with his fluent English skills.
In 2021, IM was the first in the team to step out as a solo artist and, with his solo debut album Duality, which he filled entirely with self-composed songs, built an introspective and dreamy musical world different from MONSTA X. With that album he achieved brilliant results, including reaching No. 1 on the iTunes top album charts in 18 countries and regions and placing all tracks on the Billboard World Digital Song Sales chart.
Continuing to break genre boundaries with hip-hop, R&B and jazz and expanding a broad musical spectrum, IM successfully held his first solo world tour in 2024, I.M WORLD TOUR 2024 Off The Beat, extending his stage to 18 cities in 10 countries across Europe, the United States, Canada and Asia, proving his mettle as a solo artist.
Having established himself as an "all-rounder artist" moving between group and solo activities, IM showcased an unreleased solo song, "Error 404 (ERROR 404)," at the recent 2026 MONSTA X world tour 'The X : Nexus' Seoul concert, reaffirming his overwhelming presence on stage.
MONSTA X, which IM belongs to, released the U.S. digital single growing pains on the 6th.
