The girl group Apink, amid a comeback that brought forth changes in music show culture, memories from their early debut days, and an exchange of revelations among members, also delivered a humorous take on kiss scenes.
On the 9th, in a special "Apink COMEBACK" video released on the YouTube channel Zzanbro, the members shared recent updates on their activities. The show was hosted by Shin Dong-yeob and Jung Ho-chul.
Apink said "these days the atmosphere of music shows has changed a lot from before," adding "in the past there was a natural connected feeling of teams mingling inside the broadcasting station, but now there is a challenge craze." They went on, "During this promotion we filmed about 70 challenges. Watching it was amazing."
They continued with stories from their early debut days. The members recalled the analog-sentiment fan culture, saying "When we were rookies we didn't have cell phones so we received notes in the waiting room. We received them even on airplanes, and they were sometimes delivered through staff."
Meanwhile, the maknae Ha-young's bombshell remark brought laughter. She mentioned a past kiss scene between Jeong Eun-ji and Seo Inguk in a drama, saying "I cried because I wondered if a scene like that could be aired," she revealed. She added, "No one was supposed to touch that sister's lips… I was so shocked I cried. I was 17 then and didn't think of it as broadcasting. I thought kissing meant you get married," provoking uproarious laughter.
Hearing this, the members teased, "Ha-young is old enough to do kiss scenes now," and Chorong chimed in, "Didn't you say it was time for you to do them too?" In response, Ha-young recalled her experience in the play "Romeo and Juliet," saying "the male lead would do kiss scenes about 15 times. At first I asked the co-actor, 'Do you like doing that to my sister?'" which sent the set into laughter. She continued, "Later I realized this was acting and a job. So now I ask them to do it when I'm not there," which drew another round of laughter.
The members continued jokingly to expose, "Ha-young looks up those kinds of scenes too much," and "she doesn't actually watch the whole work to the end," and Ha-young laughed and responded. From feeling a generational gap in music show culture to nostalgic debut memories and candid talks only possible among members, reaction is that Apink's strong chemistry shone once again.<
