'Running Man' members' visuals were completely ruined(?) on set, which was revealed and drew laughter.
On the 8th episode of the SBS variety show 'Running Man', the notice-of-rating filming site was broadcast. That day the members tried makeup concept looks of nostalgic characters, and complaints erupted from the start.
Jee Seokjin was decided to transform into half-man half-beast grandpa, Ji Ye-eun into Ddochi, Kim Jong Kook into Hee-dong-i, Song Ji-hyo into Do-wooner, and HaHa into the mother 'Yung Deok-okjung'. Yoo Jae-seok tried to stick with a suit concept but, facing fierce backlash from members, complained, "I won, didn't I?", and eventually accepted reality by dressing as the 'Squid brothers' with Yang Se-chan.
Once the makeup began in earnest, the set was nothing but laughter. Seeing Jee Seokjin, Yang Se-chan joked, "I think you'll look like this in two years. Don't do makeup in two years, let's do it once more," and Jee Seokjin, blaming HaHa, said, "This happened because of HaHa. We had to succeed in the mission," which provoked uproarious laughter. After finishing the makeup, he grumbled to HaHa, "You should have won. Do I look like I'm not angry?", but HaHa couldn't hold back his laughter.
In particular, when Yang Se-chan, transformed into a squid, said, "I'm glad they didn't do facial makeup," the production team shot back, "You look like a squid," overturning the set. Afterwards the members shot a group poster and the notice-of-rating video, and when Jee Seokjin shouted, "'Running Man' is for ages 12 and up," the members and production team corrected him, saying, "It's 15," creating another comic moment.
That day's race proceeded as a "game of twos" special. The members performed missions related to the number "2" while competing over prize balls and penalty balls. A rule that meals could only be eaten when a number of people that is a multiple of two gathered was added, increasing the tension.
Promising to "eat together," the members immediately went into every-person-for-themselves mode at the start, and a betrayal-filled mind game unfolded. Yang Se-chan, stamped as one of the 'Antenna guys,' declared a kamikaze mode, saying, "I'll blow up all the odd numbers," as if to release his resentment, while Hong Jin-ho, known for his gambler image, wandered in the middle of the road until just before the end without deciding on a destination, providing a twist of entertainment.
What drew the most attention was Ji Ye-eun. She briefly set aside her actress image and appeared in Ddochi makeup, devastating the set with a laugh-out-loud visual. During the race she seemed to remain loyal to one member until the end, but it turned out she had meticulously prepared to betray them. Even after being labeled a betrayer, Ji Ye-eun said confidently, "This is what I learned here," leaving the members speechless.
The members' "legendary makeup," who set aside both visuals and loyalty, and the betrayal race produced another comic highlight.
