Wanna One alumnus and singer Kang Daniel is enlisting today (the 9th).
Kang Daniel will enlist as an active-duty soldier in the army on Feb. 9, 2025, to fulfill his defense duty.
In this regard, his agency said, "There will be no separate event on the day of admission, and since it will be an occasion with many military personnel and their families present, we ask fans to refrain from visiting the site for safety reasons." It added, "Please give Flody your warm support and love so he can faithfully carry out his defense duty and return in good health."
Until now, Kang Daniel had shared his feelings about enlisting in numerous broadcasts and interviews. He said, "I plan to work hard until I start my military service. I have planned a song to release before enlisting," and "I also have plans for after discharge," mentioning his detailed plans.
Especially, appearing on "Cultwo Show," he shared his feelings before enlisting and confessed with relief, "I'm finally going." He also shared an anecdote: "I tried to join the military quickly at 19, so I dropped out of high school and took the qualifying exam, but I was rejected because there were many applicants."
Earlier, Wanna One was reported to be reuniting through a reality show after seven years, drawing attention. Kang Daniel will participate in part of the Wanna One reality filming before enlisting. In response to fans' questions, he replied, "I will probably study abroad next year and maybe do the intro together," likening his enlistment to studying abroad, which drew attention.
Meanwhile, Kang Daniel debuted with Wanna One through Mnet's audition program "Produce 101 Season 2" in 2017 and received intense love. After debuting as a solo singer in July 2019, he has been active not only as a singer but also as an MC on various programs.
