MBC 'I Live Alone' ranked first among entertainment programs in the weekly 20-54 ratings for the first week of February, extending its run at the top of entertainment shows to four consecutive weeks. The cast members' sincere daily lives and the differing temperatures of their lives have continuously drawn viewers' choices, solidifying the show's presence as the top entertainment program.
On the Feb. 6 broadcast of 'I Live Alone' (directed by Heo Hang·Kang Ji-hee·Kim Jin-kyung·Mun Ki-young), the second protagonist of the "Let's run, rainbow horse" special was Crying Nut's bassist Han Kyung-rok, who celebrated his 30th anniversary since debut, and Park Ji-hyun's strenuous daily life as she fought through winter was revealed.
According to Nielsen Korea, the household rating for 'I Live Alone' broadcast that day was 5.7% in the Seoul metropolitan area, ranking first among Friday entertainment programs. The 20-54 rating, a core indicator of channel competitiveness reflecting changes in media consumption, also recorded 3.2%, ranking first among Friday entertainment programs and first among entertainment programs in the weekly 20-54 ratings for the first week of February, continuing a four-week run at the top. The peak minute rating rose as high as 6.4%.
The day's "best one minute" belonged to "Captain Rok" Han Kyung-rok. Viewers were captivated by scenes in which he confessed that he had moved from his longtime home ground Hongdae to a new "Captain Rok House" and was living a "self-imposed exile(?)" life, and by the surprising daily scene of him enjoying a morning coffee he brewed himself while feeling the sunlight all over his body. In Hongdae he was the energetic "Hongdae class president Captain Rok," while at home he showed a perfect life balance as "musician Han Kyung-rok," focusing on conversations with his present self.
Park Ji-hyun brought laughter by revealing her own "winter survival" methods to overcome colds and the cold. Her day, from visiting a greenhouse botanical garden to shopping at a traditional market, added small pleasures. Later, she undertook self-remodeling to create a warm atmosphere at home, and her winter life with close friend Kang Jae-su added warmth.
Meanwhile, this week (the 13th) teases the third protagonist of the "Let's run, rainbow horse" special: the seventh year of living alone of Chef Kim Si-hyun, nicknamed "Little Tiger," who appeared on "Culinary Class Wars 2," and the story of Ok Ja-yeon, who welcomed a new family, raising expectations.
'I Live Alone' is loved as a single-life trend leader program that shows the diverse rainbow lives of single-person household stars.
