'Called the morning-drama Jang Dongkeon' and beloved actor Kim Byeong Sae shared an update after eight years.
On the 5th, a new video was posted on the YouTube channel 'Byeongse World' under the title 'The morning drama's Jang Dongkeon who suddenly disappeared one day.'
That day Kim Byeong Sae appeared in a relaxed manner and revealed his recent situation. He said, "My last work in Korea was MBC 'The Rich Family's Son.' 2018 was a year when many things happened and it became a turning point in my life."
First, Kim Byeong Sae said that his mother, who had been in the United States, passed away in April 2018, and explained, "That was when we were filming 'The Rich Family's Son,' and she suddenly passed away so I couldn't attend the funeral. After the drama ended, I went to the United States to say goodbye to my mother, saw my siblings, family and nieces and nephews, and stayed about two weeks."
Before returning to Korea, Kim Byeong Sae said he met his current wife through an introduction from an acquaintance. He recalled, "On the blind date the door opened and when she came in I saw a halo. She felt like a fairy, an angel. My heart didn't pound wildly, but the feeling was strange. It just felt like fate."
He added, "There was an age difference and at the time I was working in Korea. I politely asked if I could have her contact information. She willingly gave it. We parted that day and I came back to Korea," and said, "But she wouldn't leave my mind. I went back to the United States three weeks later and met her."
Kim Byeong Sae said he proposed 90 days after they met and explained the reason he decided to marry quickly, saying, "I was certain that if not now there would be no more chance to get married." The two married in 2019.
Now settled in the United States, Kim Byeong Sae said, "I could have lived in Korea or in the United States. But my wife's work is continuous, and I work sporadically, so I came to the United States. Naturally I became distant from Korean dramas and TV."
Kim Byeong Sae confessed, "While living here my wife became a citizen and sponsored me so I received a green card, and having continued to live in the United States, I think younger people now probably don't know me well. I'm not particularly saddened or anything by not being able to do broadcasting activities."
He added, "If an opportunity arises to work again as an active actor, I would be extremely grateful. I've auditioned in the United States before, and if there is an opportunity to work in Korea I think I could work again," and said, "If I can show you my wife and me living together in Korea, I would like to show it."
