Actor Kim Byeong Sae gave an update after eight years, and news emerged that he is an eight-year married man who married in 2019.
On the 5th, Kim Byeong Sae detailed the reasons he had not appeared on broadcasts on his YouTube channel "Byeongse World."
That day Kim Byeong Sae said he had not appeared on broadcasts since the 2018 MBC "Rich Man's Son" and opened his remarks by saying, "2018 was a year when many things happened and it was a turning point in my life."
Kim Byeong Sae said his mother, who had been living in the United States, passed away in April 2018, and recalled, "It was when we were filming 'Rich Man's Son,' and she passed away suddenly so I couldn't attend the funeral. After the drama ended I went to the United States to say goodbye to my mother, saw my brothers, family and nieces and nephews, and stayed about two weeks."
Before returning to Korea, Kim Byeong Sae said he was introduced to his current wife through an acquaintance and went on a blind date. He confessed, "When the door opened and she came in, I saw a halo. She felt like a fairy, like an angel. My heart wasn't pounding, but the feeling was strange. It just felt like fate."
He continued, "There was an age difference, and at the time I was working in Korea. I cautiously asked if I could have her contact information. She gladly gave it. We parted that day and I came back to Korea," and added, "but she wouldn't leave my mind. I told a friend my worries and he called me an idiot. Three weeks later I went back to the United States and met her again."
Kim Byeong Sae said he proposed 90 days after they met and explained his reason for deciding to marry quickly, saying, "I was certain that if not now, there would be no more chance to marry." The two married in 2019.
Now living in the United States, Kim Byeong Sae said, "I could live in Korea or in the United States. But my wife's work is continuous, and I work sporadically, so I came to the United States. Naturally I drifted away from Korean drama and TV."
Kim Byeong Sae said, "While living here my wife became a citizen and sponsored me so I got a green card, and having lived continuously in the United States I think young people now probably don't know me well. I'm not disappointed or anything about not being able to do broadcasting activities."
He said, "If an opportunity arises to work again as an active actor, I would be very grateful. I've auditioned in the United States, and if there's a chance to work in Korea I think I could work again," and added, "If I can show people my wife and me living together in Korea, I would like to show that."
Meanwhile, Kim Byeong Sae debuted in 1993 with the film "Western Avenue." He married a woman 15 years his junior in 2019 and currently resides in the United States.
