Actor Lee Sang-yoon drew attention by candidly expressing his thoughts on artificial intelligence (AI).
On the 7th, Lee Sang-yoon appeared on the MBC variety show Omniscient Interfering View (hereafter "Omniscient Interfering View") and revealed his daily life with manager Kim Young-gyu.
While traveling that day in the car, Lee Sang-yoon took out a paper script and checked the content. Seeing this, the manager asked, "Don't you use tablets a lot these days?" Lee Sang-yoon replied, "It's also convenient for writing, and you can see the overall flow at a glance when you look at paper," saying he still prefers analog methods.
The conversation naturally turned to technology. When the manager asked, "Don't you use things like AI or ChatGPT?" Lee Sang-yoon responded firmly, "I don't. I can't trust it." He expressed caution about AI, saying, "In movies, AI takes over humans. I think it could actually happen someday."
Lee Sang-yoon also cited the recent viral Russian "snow apartment" video online as an example. It showed an apartment with snow piled up to the 10th floor and drew worldwide attention, but it was later revealed to be a video created with AI. When the MCs reacted, "We thought it was real," Lee Sang-yoon pointed out the dangers of AI technology, saying, "See. You can be fooled like this."
He also showed a cautious attitude regarding the use of financial services. Lee Sang-yoon explained, "I only started using bank apps last year," adding, "Because of certificates and concerns about hacking or loss, I had been transferring money on a computer or going to the bank in person."
However, regarding what ultimately led him to use mobile banking, he smiled and said, "They said you have to use the app to get certain benefits."
Lee Sang-yoon, a graduate of Seoul National University's department of physics, continues to work steadily with an intellectual image and stable acting skills.
