Former group Cia member Nam Gyuri revealed the story of how she debuted as a singer.
On the 7th, the YouTube channel Kkondaehui posted a video titled "[Let's eat] A meal of samgyeopsal with Nam Gyuri, the owner of an indescribable charm that gets more captivating the more you watch."
That day Nam Gyuri for the first time revealed why she decided to become a singer when she was young.
He said, "Actually being a singer was not my dream. I was somewhat good at studying and I liked writing, so later I wanted to be a writer who writes, or because I liked physical activities I wanted to do things like figure skating" he said.
Nam Gyuri said, "But in the lower grades of elementary school our home became very hard. My father's business failed. We were six family members: three daughters and one son. The family lived cozy together in a one-room house and there was always one reason we fought, always because of money. Outside of that we were all happy" she confessed.
She continued, "So at that young age I thought, 'What can I do to buy a house?' In third or second grade of elementary school I had those thoughts, and one day at a sports day or similar event the teacher pointed at me and told me to come out and try dancing and singing. I went out and danced as if I were possessed without realizing it," she recalled.
Through that stage she became popular at school and said, "So whenever it was a school trip or an event, teachers always called me. Then I thought if I sing and become a singer and make money, my whole family could live happily. So I started practicing singing in the storage room every day. I practiced dancing looking at the shadow in the empty playground and listened to tapes until the tapes wore out," she said.
