Crying Nut bassist Han Kyung-rok revealed his recent life after leaving Hongdae and his unexpected daily life through 'I Live Alone'.
On the 6th episode of MBC entertainment show 'I Live Alone', as the second subject of the 'let's ride the rainbow horse' special, the day of Crying Nut member and 'Captain Rok' Han Kyung-rok, whose band is celebrating its 30th anniversary, was depicted.
In the broadcast, Han Kyung-rok introduced himself, saying, "I've lived alone for 20 years," then revealed a home with an atmosphere different from his intense rocker image, drawing attention. The so-called "Captain Rok House," where colorful lights, distinctive props and stained glass come together, created an orderly and sentimental atmosphere, contrary to expectations that it would be rough.
After touring the house, Kian84 reacted in surprise, saying, "I thought you lived in a semi-basement in Hongdae," at the unexpected appearance. He added, "I thought a rocker would have a bit of a rundown home," drawing laughter, and Han Kyung-rok calmly replied, "Many people think that."
Code Kunst also said, "For a rocker's house, it's very clean," and Kian84 joked, "You don't see the spirit of resistance at home." In response, Han Kyung-rok shot back, "I do the spirit of resistance outside," making the studio laugh. Jun Hyun-moo commented, "The house is wallpapered with capitalism," and Code Kunst added, "Still, the Hongdae sensibility remains. The lamps and furniture arrangement look like the studios of popular musicians from Hongdae."
Han Kyung-rok also explained the background of wrapping up his long life in Hongdae. He recalled, "I lived in Hongdae for about 20 years. Hongdae was my home ground," and said, "Whenever I went out, each day was really fun like Las Vegas." He added, "Including my activities, I spent almost 30 years in Hongdae," and said, "Recently, I moved my residence to Goyang city with a slightly voluntary exile feeling. It's been about seven months since I moved in."
Han Kyung-rok was born in 1977 and is 48 this year. Around his birthday on Feb. 11 each year, a festival called "Kyung-rok Day" is held to the point of being famous, and he is known for his wide network in the Hongdae indie music scene. He is the only unmarried member among Crying Nut members.
