Singer VV revealed her connection with Crying Nut's bassist Han Kyung-rok and made an unexpected "fandom confession".
On the 6th broadcast of MBC variety show I Live Alone, the second subject of the "Let's ride the rainbow horse" special, the daily life of Crying Nut member "Captain Rok" Han Kyung-rok, whose band is celebrating its 30th debut anniversary, was portrayed.
On that broadcast, VV was shown visiting Hongdae to meet Han Kyung-rok. The two drank coffee at a cafe and talked, and in the process Han Kyung-rok mentioned Tiger JK, asking, "Is boss JK doing well?" Tiger JK is currently known to be VV's agency representative.
Han Kyung-rok recalled a long relationship, saying, "Tiger JK and I started around the same time. We used to appear a lot together on Yoon Do-hyun's Love Letter back in the day, and I really like Drunken Tiger's fourth album." He showed affection, saying, "I really like the song 'One Han.'" But VV honestly answered, "I don't really know that boss's songs," which embarrassed Han Kyung-rok.
VV went on to confess an extraordinary fandom toward Han Kyung-rok, saying, "I've been fangirling over Crying Nut these days." She said, "I originally wasn't interested in rock. I just thought it was cool, I didn't like it," and added, "I used to think of them as the men I always saw at pubs, but when they got on stage they completely consumed you."
She also described the impression she received from Crying Nut's stage, saying, "It felt youthful. I felt a nostalgic emotion I've never experienced." VV said, "When I see something good, I always want to work with them," and added, "I was wondering how I could work with Kyung-rok hyung, and we happened to run into each other, so I offered him a highball and our connection began."
Meanwhile, Han Kyung-rok was born in 1977 and is 48 this year. Around his birthday on Feb. 11 every year, gatherings called "Kyung-rok day" are held, and he is known for his wide connections in the Hongdae indie music scene. He is the only unmarried member of Crying Nut.
