EJAE, composer and singer of Netflix's K-pop Demon Hunters OST "Golden," is facing marriage rumors for this coming November, and interest in EJAE's partner Sam Kim is also rising.
On the 7th, according to the entertainment industry, EJAE is scheduled to hold a wedding on Nov. 7 with Korean American music producer Sam Kim. The wedding is rumored to be held at a golf course in Los Angeles, U.S., operated by EJAE's mother, Shin Hye-jin, vice chairwoman of Se-young Enterprise.
The two are reported to have become engaged around the end of 2023, and EJAE in January shared on her social media photos showing Sam Kim proposing to her.
In an earlier interview with the U.S. magazine Vulture, EJAE said of Sam Kim, "He was my songwriting buddy, and we met at a writing session in 2017. We really grew together."
Also, in a November interview last year with radio station 104.3 MYfm, she announced the engagement and revealed wedding plans. She said, "We are engaged and will have the wedding in the fall of next year (2026)."
She added, "But honestly I haven't thought about the wedding at all yet. Right now I'm only thinking about the dresses I'll wear at the Oscars and the Grammys," adding, "Maybe choosing a dress for the awards shows will help decide the wedding dress as well."
Meanwhile, EJAE is the granddaughter of actor Shin Young-kyun and is known to have trained as an SM Entertainment trainee, preparing to debut as an idol for about 10 years. After her planned idol debut in Korea fell through, she worked as a songwriter and drew attention for her work on songs for K-pop Demon Hunters and for singing the character Rumi's songs as a member of the in-show group Huntrix.
Also, EJAE won the Best Song Written for Visual Media category at the Grammy Awards held in the U.S. on the 1st (local time) for "Golden." This is the first time a K-pop songwriter-producer has won a Grammy.
