Actor Lee Bum-soo and interpreter Lee Yoon-jin have completed legal procedures two years after their split.
Lee Bum-soo's agency, Y1 Entertainment, said on the 6th, "Mr. Lee Bum-soo has completed the legal procedures related to the divorce through an amicable agreement."
The agency explained, "Mr. Lee Bum-soo and Ms. Lee Yoon-jin, after sufficient consultation, resolved mutual misunderstandings and agreed that going forward they will respect and support each other in their respective roles as parents of their children," adding, "During the divorce proceedings some speculative reports and distorted interpretations that differed from the facts have spread, and we wish to correct that."
It added, "Speculative reports related to Mr. Lee Bum-soo are not true, and we make clear that the agreement between the parties was reached amicably. We politely request that unfounded speculation, criticism and the spread of false information toward Mr. Lee Bum-soo, Ms. Lee Yoon-jin and their family stop going forward."
Finally, it said, "For the stability and privacy of the children, we ask that there be restraint from further remarks or speculative reporting about the couple's married life and divorce process going forward."
Meanwhile, Lee Bum-soo remarried Lee Yoon-jin in May 2010 and they have a daughter and a son. However, in December 2023 reports of their split surfaced, and the following March the agency officially acknowledged that the two were undergoing divorce mediation.
