Singer Bae Gi-sung and his wife, Lee Eun-bi, opened up about the thoughts behind their choice not to have children.
TV CHOSUN's reality show "Lovers of Joseon" production team on the 6th released a teaser for the episode airing on the 9th featuring the couple Bae Gi-sung and Lee Eun-bi.
In the video, Bae said, "Before we got married, I said we would definitely have a child, but after we married, I found married life so enjoyable," adding, "I thought it wouldn't be bad for just the two of us to live together."
He also candidly mentioned the reason they are living child-free. Bae said, "Because we married late, we even looked into procedures like IVF," but added, "My wife really struggled during that process. So I didn't pressure her."
Lee said, "It's for my family, so I don't worry about not sleeping or not eating," but added, "I hope my husband lives longer than I do. If he leaves before me, I don't think I could live, and I worry that someday it might end up being just me and that little one (a child)…" She eventually broke into tears.
The two married in 2017 after dating for three years. Bae debuted at the MBC College Music Festival in 1993, then in 1998 formed the group Can with Lee Jong-won and was loved for hit songs including "Spring Days of My Life." Lee is a former DMB U1 Media announcer and is currently active as a show host.
