Actor Lee Bum-soo and interpreter and broadcaster Lee Yoon-jin have completed all legal procedures related to their divorce two years after their breakup.
Lee Bum-soo's agency Y1 Entertainment said in an official statement on the 6th, "Mr. Lee Bum-soo has completed the legal procedures related to the divorce through an amicable agreement." The agency explained, "Through sufficient consultations, they resolved mutual misunderstandings, and going forward, as the parents of their children, they agreed to respect and support each other in their respective roles."
They added, "During the divorce process, some speculative reports and distorted interpretations that differed from the facts spread, and we want to correct this," and emphasized, "Speculative reports related to Mr. Lee Bum-soo are not true, and the parties reached an amicable agreement." They also asked, "Please stop conjecture, criticism, and spreading false information about Mr. Lee Bum-soo, Lee Yoon-jin and their family going forward." The agency also requested "restraint from additional remarks about their married life and the divorce process or speculative reporting" citing the children's stability and privacy protection.
On the same day, Lee Yoon-jin also shared her feelings directly on social media. She said, "After ending about 15 years of marriage, I have finalized an agreed divorce with Mr. Lee Bum-soo through an amicable agreement," and "We resolved misunderstandings that arose from a lack of conversation and communication during the marriage, and going forward we will respect and support each other as the parents of our children." She added, "Please give warm support to actor Lee Bum-soo in his future endeavors."
Meanwhile, Lee Bum-soo remarried Lee Yoon-jin in May 2010 and they have a daughter and a son. In December 2023 divorce rumors surfaced, and the following March the agency officially acknowledged that they were in divorce mediation. With this agreement, the two have completed the legal procedures and will continue their relationship as co-parents.<
