Hollywood actress Halle Berry (Halle Berry, 59) personally revealed that she is engaged to her boyfriend, musician Van Hunt. After three failed marriages, she drew attention by saying "I still believe in eternal love" and foreshadowing a fourth marriage.
Halle Berry appeared on NBC's The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on the 6th (local time) and said, "There was a misunderstanding that he proposed and I refused," adding, "That is not true. We just haven't set a date yet." She then clarified the engagement by saying, "Of course I said I would marry him. There's a ring, you know."
Earlier, in an interview with The Cut, Halle Berry said that Van Hunt proposed in June last year and mentioned, "I am considering marriage because of the medical and health access rights that a legal spouse provides," which had caused the misunderstanding that she 'had not yet accepted.' In response, she directly clarified the matter.
The two met through an introduction by an acquaintance during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. They built their relationship by exchanging texts and phone calls for several months before their first in-person date, and later became a couple. Halle Berry emphasized, "This is the healthiest and happiest relationship I have experienced so far."
This marriage would be Halle Berry's fourth. She married baseball player David Justice in 1994 but they divorced after three years. She remarried singer Eric Benét in 2001, but that marriage ended after two years. Her marriage to actor Olivier Martinez also ended after two years, and the two have a son, Maceo. She also has a daughter, Nahla, with model Gabriel Aubry.
Reflecting on her past, Halle Berry once confessed, "I kept attracting people who were always hurt," and said, "I had to confront the pain of my childhood and learn to fully love myself."
Meanwhile, Halle Berry is actively participating in promotional activities for the film Crime 101, which opens in the U.S. on the 13th, and is also actively campaigning in California in support of the Menopause Care Equity Act. Attention is focused on her new life chapter in which she does not miss out on love, career, or her social voice.
