YouTuber "Honorary Brit" Baek Jin-gyeong, who boasts 1.56 million subscribers, appears on Omniscient Interfering View.
On the 7th, MBC variety show "Omniscient Interfering View" (abbreviated OIV) episode 384 will reveal the "British" day of Baek Jin-gyeong, a 1.56 million influencer and plus-size model active in the U.K.
Baek Jin-gyeong, an "Honorary Brit" who has lived in the U.K. for seven years, describes herself as creating content that introduces "British" culture while guiding those unfamiliar with life in Britain. But, as it turns out, she is from Ansan in Gyeonggi Province, and she confessed a unique hardship, saying, "My K-Korean self sometimes pops out." In fact, she surprised the hosts by revealing a contrary taste: preferring plum tea to milk tea, Korean food to brunch, and listening to K-ballads while exercising.
Still, true to her "British" commitment to environmental protection, she carried her favorite mug all day, and during the studio recording she corrected the hosts' Konglish pronunciations and delivered unique humor with the wit expected of an "Honorary Brit." Also, she recreated the British-style bold older-sister makeup look known as "chav makeup," characterized by earth-toned foundation, very dark eyebrows, and thick eyeliner, reportedly devastating the set.
Baek Jin-gyeong's British husband is also revealed on broadcast for the first time. He is a younger man from London and a nationally known actor active in Ireland, and he said he and Baek Jin-gyeong had a fateful first meeting across borders through a dating app. The couple's movie-like love story will be broadcast on Saturday the 7th at 11:10 p.m.
