Singer and producer MC MONG, how did he end up only reporting his recent status through controversies?
MC MONG has once again become embroiled in controversy. After denying an affair allegation, now there is an accusation of prostitution. MC MONG, who has been sharing updates only through various allegations without musical activity. He personally explained that it was his "girlfriend" and tried to manage the situation, but the public's fatigue is growing as various allegations keep trailing one after another.
MC MONG has been accused of prostitution. On the 4th, the comprehensive programming channel TV CHOSUN's current affairs and culture program 'Shintongbong' covered MC MONG's prostitution allegation based on content a media reporter revealed through the YouTube channel 'Jiritjirit', and the fallout grew.
According to reports, recently a suspicious woman was coming and going at the apartment where MC MONG lives, and residents reported, "It seems like prostitution is happening in the apartment." The management office checked the CCTV, and in the process footage was captured of MC MONG getting on and off an elevator together with several women as they headed to the residence.
Shintongbong said, "It is difficult to view this footage alone as proof of prostitution. However, it is confirmed that such women went to MC MONG's residence late at night." After the broadcast, 'MC MONG prostitution allegation' rose as an entertainment news keyword, and MC MONG made a direct statement.
On the 5th, MC MONG posted a long message on his social media and said, "I am curious why such articles are written under someone's instructions with no evidence or physical proof. For CCTV to be released, a police report must be filed and cooperation from investigative authorities is required, and a third party's footage can be opened by the security only if the police are present. But I have never had any resident report. This footage was obtained clearly illegally, and the video is not of people entering the house but of everyone leaving together."
MC MONG explained the scenes reported on Shintongbong as "a gathering where a close younger male, a girlfriend, and acquaintances were simply talking together," and "that day I declared I would quit the company and it was a gathering made to comfort me; chairman Cha Ga-won visited, everyone left, and we talked about work for about 10 minutes and that was the end of the day."
MC MONG said, "Those who turned an ordinary day no different from anyone else's into prostitution, you are nothing more and nothing less than demons," and emphasized he would sue those who distributed the illegally obtained footage. As the allegations escalated into controversy, MC MONG directly stepped in, taking out the legal response card to manage the situation.
Earlier, MC MONG was embroiled in a prostitution allegation in June of last year. At the time, in connection with prostitution allegations raised about Ju Hak-nyeon, then a member of the group The Boyz, claims were also made that MC MONG was excluded from One Hundred's activities because he was involved in prostitution.
Ultimately, MC MONG said regarding his exclusion from One Hundred's activities, "I have suffered from extreme depression, underwent one surgery, and my health deteriorated so much that doing music was very difficult," and said he decided to study abroad.
Later, MC MONG made headlines in the entertainment news section over a war of words with actress Lee Da-in, who is married to singer Lee Seung Gi. After announcing his decision to study abroad, he posted on social media a photo taken with Lee Seung Gi and Lee Da-in, actress Lee Yoo-bi, and chairman Cha Ga-won, and Lee Da-in targeted him saying, "Why post a photo more than a year old now and make a fuss?" In response, MC MONG fired back, "Mind your business! Whether I post a photo from a year ago or a photo I liked, before you come to hate me more. Would you do what you did and abandon family like you?" and a war of words ensued.
Meanwhile, in December last year an affair allegation was raised involving Cha Ga-won, co-CEO of One Hundred and chairman of p_Arc Group, stirring another controversy. At the time MC MONG directly refuted the affair report and warned of lawsuits against the reporting media, and Cha Ga-won's side also said, "baseless," and stated they would respond with a zero-tolerance policy with no leniency.
And recently another controversy arose when it was alleged MC MONG received a proxy prescription for zolpidem. On the 30th of last month, Edaily revealed a recording and said circumstances were found showing MC MONG had been taking the psychotropic drug zolpidem prescribed under his manager's name. MC MONG said, "The recording is fabricated," and argued it was a smear intended to attack him.
MC MONG, who has been repeating allegations and denials for months, leaves a regret that his recent status is stained by controversy instead of music.
