Actor Emma Stone (Emma Stone) candidly explained why she does not use Instagram. Unlike many Hollywood stars who communicate with fans through social media, he said he deliberately keeps his distance online to protect his 'mental health.'
Stone told Rolling Stone in a recent interview, "My mental health is too precious for me to engage in that way," and "that's why I don't use Instagram." However, she has not completely disconnected from digital life. She said, "I'm a 'lurker' who likes to look at other people's content," and that she subscribes to certain platforms to keep up with pop culture.
The platform she chose is Substack (Substack, a platform where writers and podcasters send content directly to subscribers and earn revenue through paid subscriptions). Stone said, "I'm a real Substack maniac," noting that she reads a variety of pieces from fashion content to creative writing and light gossip, and she laughed that "I spend quite a bit of money on it." She added that she had been a 'heavy reader' who enjoyed blogs since the LiveJournal days.
This interview took place as she promoted the Squarespace Super Bowl commercial she filmed with director Yorgos Lanthimos. The ad is scheduled to air during the Super Bowl on Feb. 8 and features a premise in which Stone buys the domain of her real name to build a website. She revealed the behind-the-scenes story, saying, "I didn't just act — I actually bought the domain," and "the ad wouldn't have worked otherwise."
Meanwhile, Stone was nominated for best actress at this year's Academy Awards for Lanthimos' new film, Bugonia. She served as both lead actor and producer on the project, and the film was also nominated for best picture. The ceremony will be held on March 15.<
