Jisung, Park Hee-soon and Son Byung-ho reach the pinnacle of a suffocating psychological battle.
In episode 11 of the MBC Friday-Saturday drama The Judge Returns, which airs on the 6th (planned by Namgoong Seong-woo and Chang Jae-hoon, written by Kim Kwang-min, directed by Lee Jae-jin and Park Mi-yeon), the full-fledged activities of Lee Han-young (played by Jisung), who entered the tiger's den himself to eradicate great evil, unfold.
In the previous broadcast, Lee Han-young pulled Hwang Nam-yong (played by Kim Myungsoo), who had been a candidate for chief justice, out of his position and, together with Kang Shin-jin (played by Park Hee-soon), entered Suojae, the hotbed of corruption. Witnessing bundles of cash poured into a bathtub under the name of special activity expenses, Lee Han-young shouted inside, "You crazy bastards," in anger, but outwardly pretended to be assimilated with them and gritted his teeth.
As Lee Han-young witnesses the ugliness of power and is shocked, stills released on the 5th (today) attract attention by depicting a tense three-way face-off between Lee Han-young and Kang Shin-jin, who have different aims, and Park Gwang-to (played by Son Byung-ho).
Introduced by Kang Shin-jin, Lee Han-young visits Park Gwang-to's office and, with a tightly nervous face, realizes the weight of the war he is waging. Soon adopting a poker face, Han-young hides his true feelings for the sake of achieving justice and tries to blend into the ranks of great evil. Meanwhile, Park Gwang-to, looking at Lee Han-young with a relaxed yet meaningful expression, somehow amplifies a sense of unease.
Meanwhile, ambition boils in Kang Shin-jin's eyes as he looks at Park Gwang-to. Earlier, he blackmailed Hwang Nam-yong, who was on the verge of having to take off his robe over his son's hiring scandal, and secured a USB containing Park Gwang-to's illegal political slush fund. Although Kang Shin-jin acts as Park Gwang-to's loyal right-hand man as a key figure in Suojae, he also holds his Achilles' heel, so curiosity grows about the substance of the plan Kang Shin-jin is plotting. Park Gwang-to, too, begins to harbor suspicions toward Kang Shin-jin for certain reasons, and an invisible crack between the two gradually emerges. Whether Lee Han-young can penetrate the alliance of people filled with mutual distrust and greed is drawing attention.
