Singer and actor Rain (Jung Jihoon) recalled the period when he was active with TVXQ!.
On the evening of the 5th, a video titled "Today we'll talk a lot about the old days, you'll think of it before you go to bed" was posted on the YouTube channel "Season by Season." In the released video, Kim Junsu and Jung Sunghwa appeared as guests and met Rain. The two introduced the musical 'Beetlejuice' for which they were cast together.
In particular, Rain nostalgically mentioned the period when Kim Junsu was active with TVXQ!. He said, "It's not like that now, but when some singers came out, I watched the rehearsal. I crossed my arms and watched to see how good they were. These five friends were dancing and singing, and when Junsu did an ad-lib, I was surprised at his voice," and could not stop talking.
Kim Junsu replied, "Back then, you had to do live. It had to be live. When 'Rainism' came out, I liked the hyung so much. When rehearsals happened, Rain hyung always went to see them."
He also recalled, "We worked harder when singers were sitting in front of us during dry rehearsals than in the actual performance." Rain laughed and said, "When rehearsals happened, everyone came dressed really stylishly in casual clothes."
Rain also opened up about the competitive relationship with TVXQ!. He said, "When TVXQ! made a comeback, Jinyoung hyung would ask, 'Can you do well on your own?' We always motivated each other. I definitely planned to release an album at a good time with Jinyoung hyung, but two weeks later TVXQ! said they were coming out together. If we collided, the difference in fandoms was too big. When I actually felt it myself, TVXQ! was the best. Whenever we were both candidates for first place, there was a fivefold difference in album sales," he confessed.
Kim Junsu said, "I wondered, 'Can I fill the stage like that on my own?'" expressing admiration for Rain's stage. Even so, Rain complained, "I have to be number one as soon as I go out, but they came out again and appeared on so many broadcasts. Broadcast appearance scores were also big," and Kim Junsu laughed, "That's right. We split into five and did it."
Rain recalled with added laughter, "When I left JYP and released 'Rainism,' it had to do well, but they came out with 'Mirotic.' I was really annoyed. Even the song was so good."
