Lee Sung-kyoung, Han Ji-hyun and Oh Yeju come together as three dependable sisters under one roof.
The MBC new Fri-Sat drama In Your Radiant Season, scheduled to premiere on the 20th at 9:50 p.m. (planned by Namgung Seong-woo, written by Jo Seong-hee, directed by Jeong Sang-hee and Kim Young-jae), depicts a man named Chan who lives every day like an exciting summer vacation and a woman named Ran who has locked herself in winter meeting as if by fate, awakening frozen time with an unpredictable "Challran" romance.
In the drama, Lee Sung-kyoung, Han Ji-hyun and Oh Yeju play the three sisters of the Nana family, Song Ha-ran, Song Ha-young and Song Ha-dam, portraying sisters who have borne the same wounds but have endured life in their own ways. The conflicts and moments of solidarity that build as they face each other in the same space add depth to a realistic sibling relationship.
At the center of the three sisters is the eldest, Song Ha-ran. Song Ha-ran, played by Lee Sung-kyoung, is a character who locked herself in winter to rebuild a life that collapsed in an instant, living without easily letting anyone in. She is the axis that holds the family balance between her grandmother, Kim Nana (played by Lee Mi-Sook), and her younger sisters, but at the same time she remains in the deepest isolation. The weight of the eldest daughter who has endured for the family is expected to resonate with many viewers.
Lee Sung-kyoung said of the sisters' chemistry, "Han Ji-hyun is playing Ha-young so lovingly that it's almost amazing; on set she enjoys it so comfortably that you can't tell whether it's acting or real, and you can feel the energy from that." She added, "Oh Yeju also plays the fresh and sharp Ha-dam in such a way that you can't help but love her, so the three sisters harmonize well and each of their charms can become distinct."
Meanwhile, the second sister Song Ha-young, played by Han Ji-hyun, is a cheerful and straightforward personality who is responsible for the household's atmosphere. Although she appears the brightest on the outside, she reveals her most honest feelings in front of her family, depicting the three sisters' relationship in a three-dimensional way.
Han Ji-hyun said, "The set really feels like family. The sisters' chemistry is so good and comfortable," adding, "Senior Lee Sung-kyoung lightens the mood on set with humor, and Oh Yeju spreads bright energy everywhere. We laugh a lot, but in emotional scenes the set naturally becomes focused, so my affection for this project has grown even more during filming."
The youngest, Song Ha-dam, is played by Oh Yeju. On the surface she seems the most solid, appearing to be the worry-free youngest who ranks first in school and handles everything on her own, but that is also her survival method to avoid appearing like a "pitiful child." However, Ha-dam's first wanderings, which had seemed reliable, open a new phase in the sisters' long-standing relationship, increasing curiosity about the moments of change they will face.
Oh Yeju said, "When we film at Nana House, it really feels like being at home. Being with Ha-ran and Ha-young unnis feels like being fully armored," adding, "They really take care of me like the actual youngest and give me so much love. Thanks to that, filming at Nana House is happy and warm," boasting a special chemistry.
In this way, the three sisters in In Your Radiant Season sometimes sharpen their edges at each other like a war, but at the most necessary moments they become a dependable shield for one another.
