Zo In-sung mentioned a leading actor's responsibility for a work's box office performance.
On the afternoon of the 4th, the YouTube channel "YouTube Hajiyoung" released content titled "A NIS black agent at the neighborhood supermarket!! Funny but handsome Zo In-sung reveals his first story."
That day Zo In-sung was asked the question "Have you ever watched a work you starred in while the channel was playing it, yes or no" and answered, "Many times."
Zo In-sung said, "Even now, unless I drink a lot, I try not to watch them. I've been like that for a long time. Works, maybe this is my wrong thinking, feel like being put on a test. I remember myself waiting for the results back then, so I just can't look at my own work purely as my own. I can watch other people's work well, but I can't really watch my own."
He added, "That won't be true for everyone, and each person can have different ways, attitudes, or thoughts toward works," and "For me, doing work was survival. It's a matter of making a living. That's why it's not easy."
He continued, "From a young age I felt that if this didn't go well or critics' evaluations were not good, my life could disappear. That habit still hasn't gone away."
Zo In-sung said, "People ask if I'm more at ease than before, and in fact I am. But still, if the works I do now don't receive love, it will be hard for me to survive. There's the input that making a living will become difficult," and "What has changed from before is that I have gained a little ease within that. But the responsibility for this outcome is the same now as it was when I was young."
Zo In-sung is set to appear this year in three films: Ryu Seung-wan's Humint, Lee Chang-dong's Possible Love, and Na Hong-jin's Hope.
