"Humint" actor Park Jeongmin revealed his thoughts on sharing a romantic storyline with Shin Sae-kyeong.
On the afternoon of the 4th at CGV Yongsan I'Park Mall in Seoul, a press screening for the film "Humint" was held. Director Ryu Seung-wan and leading actors Zo In-sung, Park Jeongmin, Park Hae-jun, and Shin Sae-kyeong attended.
The film "Humint" (director Ryu Seung-wan, distributed by NEW, produced by Oeyunaegang Co., Ltd.) depicts the clash of people with different objectives in Vladivostok, where secrets and truths are submerged in a cold sea of ice.
Zo In-sung plays NIS agent Chief Jo, Park Jeongmin portrays North Korean State Security Department official Jo Geon, Park Hae-jun plays North Korea's consul general in Vladivostok Hwang Chi-seong, and Shin Sae-kyeong gives a moving performance as restaurant worker Chae Seon-hwa, who became a humint to survive.
In particular, Park Jeongmin and Shin Sae-kyeong present a tender and heartrending romance that stimulates the tear ducts in the film's latter half.
Shin Sae-kyeong said, "This felt different from the romantic projects I've done so far, so I had a lot of expectations. I was even more excited and happy when I heard that the actor I would be filming with was Park Jeongmin," and added, "The emotional line between me and Park Geon is important, but it was also important that it blended and harmonized, so if you thought it worked well, I'm grateful."
Asked, "Was there any point you paid special attention to while acting in romantic scenes with Shin Sae-kyeong?" he said, "I thought the only purpose Park Geon has in this film is Seon-hwa. That purpose is the actress Shin Sae-kyeong," and added, "I always filmed with the character Seon-hwa in my heart while shooting."
He continued, "When we first met Shin Sae-kyeong on set, she opened her heart to us early. We could interact comfortably, relied on each other a lot, and concentrated on each other while acting on set. There was no methodological approach other than acting that way. It's a huge relief that Seon-hwa was played by Shin Sae-kyeong," expressing great satisfaction.
Meanwhile, "Humint" opens on the 11th.
