Actress Lee Joo-been led immersion in the latter half of "Spring Fever" with a wide range of emotional variation.
Lee Joo-been vividly portrayed the changes in the character Yoon Bom in episodes 9 and 10 of the tvN Monday-Tuesday drama Spring Fever, broadcast on the 2nd and 3rd, depicting a situation where scrutiny around relationships and personal wounds come rushing in at the same time.
First, in episode 9, as rumors about her relationship with Jae-gyu (Ahn Bo-hyun) spread within the school, Bom drew attention by firmly maintaining her center without wavering. In the passage where she politely but clearly told her colleagues, "I won't do anything shameful or neglect my responsibilities, so please watch," and organized the situation, Lee Joo-been clearly revealed the change in a hardened Yoon Bom.
Bom became a solid support by staying by Jae-gyu, who was anxious over family issues, with plain encouragement and actions. After confirming their feelings for each other and growing closer, the two raised the temperature of their romance, and Lee Joo-been delicately expressed that change with looks that mixed relief and excitement.
But in episode 10, when her mother Jung Nan-hee (Na Young-hee) appeared, Lee Joo-been switched her emotions in an instant. To Nan-hee, who had forced her daughter's sacrifice for her own career, Bom coldly drew a line, saying, "I endured because you told me to endure even though you knew my life would be ruined. From now on, let's each live our own lives." When Jae-gyu was hurt trying to save Nan-hee and the words "endure" were repeated again, Bom poured out the long-suppressed frustration, asking, "Why should the people harmed have to endure because of that one person?", leaving a strong aftertaste.
At the end of the broadcast, when faced with Jae-gyu's confession, "I killed my father," Lee Joo-been compressed the confusion into a momentarily frozen expression and trembling eyes. The frozen ending, speechless and numb, hinted at the repercussions that would befall Bom and heightened curiosity about the next episode.
Meanwhile, with only two episodes left until the finale and public interest in the ending at its peak, tvN's Spring Fever episodes 11 and 12 will air next Monday and Tuesday at 8:50 p.m.
