Actor KIM MIN proves her presence in her first historical drama film.
KIM MIN appears in the film "The Man Who Lives with the King" (director Jang Hang-jun), released today (the 4th), as Eom Tae-san, the son of Gwangcheongol village head Eom Heung-do (played by Yoo Hai Jin).
"The Man Who Lives with the King" is set in 1457 at Cheongryeongpo and tells the story of a village head who volunteers for exile to revive the village and a young former king who was dethroned and exiled.
Eom Tae-san, played by KIM MIN, grew up in a remote mountain village without a proper teacher or books, but he learned the Thousand Character Classic at age 5 and the Elementary Learning at age 8, showing exceptional intelligence from a young age. He is truly his father Eom Heung-do's pride and boast.
Because of extreme poverty he gave up taking the state examination early, but later Eom Tae-san meets the retired king Lee Hong-wi (played by Park Jihoon) and begins to revive his dream of studying. Eom Tae-san, who always says what he wants to say, is expected to enrich the work as a character who holds both an unusual composure for his age and, at the same time, the innocent naivety of his peers.
In particular, KIM MIN is expected to form a solid father-son chemistry with Yoo Hai Jin and firmly support the center of the drama. KIM MIN naturally blends with the prominent senior actors and delivers another impressive performance. As evidence, just from the released stills, KIM MIN appears completely immersed in Eom Tae-san, suggesting a high level of character completion that draws attention.
KIM MIN has met viewers through various works such as the dramas Haikuki, HIDE, Chief Detective 1958, and the films Rebound, The Killers, and Lobby. Amid active work across dramas and films, attention is focused on what new acting transformation KIM MIN will attempt with her first historical drama "The Man Who Lives with the King" as she steps up her acting career in 2026.
Meanwhile, the film "The Man Who Lives with the King," in which KIM MIN appears, opens today (the 4th) in theaters nationwide.
