Daesung of K-global idol symbol Big Bang has abruptly joined SBS Plus' "The manly man's way of travel" alongside Korea's representative tough men Choo Sung Hoon and Kim Jong Kook to form the "great chaotic trio."
The SBS Plus "The manly man's way of travel," set to premiere in April, is a "raw travel chronicle of real males" equipped with 200% instinct reality, in which instinct-driven manly men leave on an unplanned, unscripted, impulsive journey. Choo Sung Hoon and Kim Jong Kook, leading figures of strong masculinity, form a powerful combination as the "manly duo," delivering a chaotic "extreme real travel variety" where only the strong survive. The production raises expectations as Kim Jinho, the producer who directed SBS' "Law of the Jungle" and "Jungle BOB," which established a new era for survival-variety entertainment, teams up with the ultimate dream team from "Law of the Jungle."
Daesung, a "versatile entertainer" loved for explosive vocal power, cheerful energy and his unique variety sensibility, joins the instinct-fueled travel diary where the "real male nature" of the extreme P-oriented manly duo Choo Sung Hoon and Kim Jong Kook erupts, taking on his first travel-variety show since debut. Daesung previously worked with Kim Jong Kook on the variety show "Family Outing," and he has had a close older-brother–younger-brother relationship with Choo Sung Hoon. Armored with instinct and intuition, Daesung will display an unprecedented "shocking chemistry" with the manly brothers and unleash fantastic synergy.
Daesung said, "I came to serve the older brothers so they would feel good," and added, "If it weren't for this program, I don't think I would be able to travel with the older brothers in my lifetime, so I joined," explaining why he joined "The manly man's way of travel." In particular, Daesung said, "A manly man is not at all 'chugumi.' I am a mid-male. I am soft but not easily broken," saying the middle role suits him best, creating a novel tension from the extreme-opposite traits with the "manly duo."
Describing Choo Sung Hoon as a primitive man who broadcasts with wild charm and Kim Jong Kook as giving a zoo tiger vibe to express "manliness," Daesung described himself as "a trainer who teases the tiger sometimes and gets his arm bitten and then apologizes," drawing laughter. Daesung also volunteered to be the load carrier with excellent adjustment skills, saying, "I will be a guide with aegyo," matching the strong tension of the manly brothers and promising explosive impact.
By contrast, Daesung said, "I'm not the type to meticulously plan a trip; I only make sure the departure and return dates and times match," and added, "I have no aversion to food and I'm full of adventurous spirit," signaling his perfect adaptability to the instinct-equipped impromptu travels of extreme P male manly men. Attention is focused on the unpredictable, bombshell performance Daesung will display on "The manly man's way of travel."
The producers said, "With Daesung's unique ability to care for others, filled with cheerful energy, the trip will be like a roller coaster with not a dull moment," and added, "Please look forward to the manly travel 'instinct sprint' of a new kind that Choo Sung Hoon, Kim Jong Kook and Daesung will create together, something you've never seen anywhere."
Meanwhile, SBS Plus' "The manly man's way of travel," featuring Korea's representative "manly duo" Choo Sung Hoon and Kim Jong Kook with Daesung of Big Bang, is scheduled to premiere in April.
