"Agents of Mystery 2" returns.
On the 4th, Netflix released still cuts of the original variety show Agents of Mystery 2 featuring Lee Yongjin, John Park, Hyeri, Kim Do-hoon, Karina, and Gabee, announcing its comeback.
Agents of Mystery 2 is an adventure mystery variety show that tracks and solves bizarre incidents that cannot be explained scientifically. Director Jung Jong-yeon, who built a distinctive genre through Netflix's brain survival game The Devil's Plan, The Great Escape, and High School Mystery Club, presented this adventure mystery variety show in 2024, and its realistic missions that unfold bizarre incidents within a meticulously designed world maximized thrill and immersion, sparking hot discussion.
In this Agents of Mystery 2, the mystery worldview has deepened and the scale expanded with outdoor missions added. Above all, the Agents of Mystery's activities—becoming agents of the secret organization "XIN," probing enigmatic and supernatural incidents, and solving missions—are expected to be the top viewing points again. Lee Yongjin, John Park, Hyeri, Kim Do-hoon, and Karina are prepared to perform with seasoned investigative instincts befitting experienced members. In addition, the energetic new investigator Gabee joins to add vitality.
Meanwhile, the released character stills stimulate investigative instincts. First, the leader of the investigators, Lee Yongjin, whose careful scrutiny of his surroundings draws attention for his focus. Lee Yongjin said, "I am truly honored to present season 2 with a bigger worldview and deeper story," and added, "I practiced organizing situations a lot. Rather than trying to do well alone, I focused most on accurately performing my role within the team," raising expectations for the matured leader's performance.
John Park, the brain whose logical reasoning and calm judgment played a central role in solving missions, also draws interest with his sharp gaze. John Park said, "The returning season is more spectacular and full of tension. This season I think I handled the 'startled' reactions. Hyeri, a member of the investigative unit "Hyegyeolsa," is expected to play the role of the "tanker" with strong courage. Hyeri said, "In terms of scale and the worldview, it expanded enormously. Not only those who loved season 1 but also viewers looking for large-scale mystery programs will be satisfied," expressing confidence. She added, "I aimed for bigger performances and tried to increase and maintain my concentration at every shoot," heightening curiosity.
Action leader Kim Do-hoon said he made thorough preparations for season 2. Kim Do-hoon said, "I joined with the resolve to dig into mysteries a bit more sharply and one step more courageously," and emphasized, "I realized that courage is an important investigative skill for solving mysteries. Before season 2, I trained my courage by watching horror films I normally wouldn't even look at," raising expectations. This season 2 expanded the scale and added outdoor missions, foreshadowing unpredictable developments. As missions requiring team cooperation were also strengthened, teamwork and chemistry became even tighter. Director Jung Jong-yeon said, "The chemistry among the six was solid like siblings," and added, "Although they bickered all day, in every crisis that required concentration they helped and encouraged each other, overflowing with familial affection." Lee Yongjin said, "Each moves in different ways, but when they come together it naturally leads to one conclusion," and John Park also emphasized the solidified teamwork, saying, "There were moments we couldn't have gotten through without this teamwork."
Hyeri said, "In quests where you solve things by joining forces, it felt like being one team," teasing curiosity with the witty keyword 'cliquey elephant.' Kim Do-hoon compared the investigators to the relationship between a clownfish and anemone, saying, "Each shows their individuality and specialized talents and outwardly plays different roles, but ultimately as a team they become stronger together; beyond simple camaraderie, I felt comradeship," demonstrating trust. Karina said, "I think we worked hard on missions by giving each other carrot-and-stick appropriately," and finally Gabee said, "Each person's characteristics are all different, but when gathered they formed an astonishing chorus," raising expectations for a fresh team chemistry.
