Group SHINee member Onew (ONEW) has confirmed a comeback on March 9.
The agency Griffin Entertainment said on the 3rd, "Onew will release mini album 5 'TOUGH LOVE' on the 9th of next month and meet fans. Through the new album, Onew plans to declare an expansion of his unique musical worldview, so we ask for your great anticipation and interest," it said.
Onew's comeback comes about eight months after the release of his second full-length album "PERCENT," which was released in July last year. Having proven his musical capabilities by directly participating in overall song production as an artist and producer, attention is focused on the sensuous musical colors he will描 draw through "TOUGH LOVE."
Ahead of the comeback, on the 1st Onew surprised fans by unveiling a trailer containing hints of "TOUGH LOVE" at the encore concert "2025-26 ONEW WORLD TOUR [ONEW THE LIVE : PERCENT (%)] ENCORE" held at the Ticketlink Live Arena in Olympic Park, Songpa-gu, Seoul.
As if foreshadowing various forms of love, red hearts fill everyday scenes one after another in the trailer, drawing attention. But the hearts soon burn, break and shatter beyond recognition and meet cracks. The video ends with the album title "TOUGH LOVE" and the release date appearing, heightening curiosity about its meaning.
As a solo artist, Onew has repeatedly taken musical challenges with each album. From mini album 3 "FLOW," which honestly reflected Onew's own flow, to mini album 4 "CONNECTION," which emphasized the organic link between Onew's inner and outer self, to full-length album 2 "PERCENT," which sang of incomplete beings that fill 100% only in mutually complementary relationships, Onew has continued a distinctive musical worldview, and attention is drawn to the story he will newly unfold with "TOUGH LOVE."
Onew's mini album 5 "TOUGH LOVE" will be released through various music sites at 6 p.m. on March 9.
