Later, when they managed to contact Shim Kwon-ho again, he met with the production team with a dark expression. Shim Kwon-ho honestly said, "The reason I couldn't answer the phone is because I'm so exhausted. In the past I used to stay up all night drinking. I don't crave alcohol, but when I'm alone I suddenly feel very lonely."
Shim Kwon-ho said, "When I exercised I would recover in a day, but now I'm older and recovery doesn't come easily." The production team suggested he get his liver levels checked, persuading him, "We came home and found you collapsed and unconscious and got worried. Let's do a health checkup."
Shim Kwon-ho confessed that he had been diagnosed with early-stage liver cancer. But he disliked people around him knowing, so he hid it tightly and had delayed treatment. Shim Kwon-ho said, "I've been running around fine until now.. If I had a partner I would tell them my worries, but this isn't something I can tell my parents. I want to get treatment, but I was afraid that if I did, people would swarm like hornets. Because of that I ran away. I hated the situation itself. I was quietly scared of that."
Shim Kwon-ho tearfully said, "I've been working out all this time, and I hate stopping because of liver cancer. Rumors about me have already spread.. I really hated that. I knew my condition.. so I didn't want to get tested from the start." He honestly said, "At that time I thought, 'Why is this happening to me?' It wasn't escapism; it was just the feeling that I wanted to disappear."
After regaining his composure, Shim Kwon-ho said he decided to be hospitalized after additional tests. He resolved to focus on treatment. After successfully completing the surgery, Shim Kwon-ho appeared with a bright face. He smiled and said, "Didn't I tell you? I handled the liver cancer well and came back. Thanks to a lot of support, the results were good. I will show you a good, healthy appearance in front of you all."
