Actor Kim Seon-ho was confirmed to have received settlement payments through a one-person agency.
On the 3rd, Kim Seon-ho's agency Fantagio told OSEN, "After establishing the corporation in January 2024, it is correct that the settlement was temporarily received (from the transfer previous agency)," the agency said. Kim Seon-ho's former agency also told OSEN, "We simply deposited the settlement funds to the place the actor requested."
According to a media outlet that day, Kim Seon-ho received entertainment activity settlement payments through a one-person corporation, 'SHDU', established in January 2024 while he was with his former agency. This raised suspicions that he attempted to evade taxes by applying a corporate tax rate lower than the personal income tax rate (up to 45%).
Kim Seon-ho was accused of trying to evade taxes by setting up a corporation separate from his agency. Kim Seon-ho registered the corporation at his home address in Yongsan District, Seoul, and listed his parents as inside director and auditor. It was also reported that after paying his parents a salary he then transferred the amount to himself, and that his parents used a corporate card for living and entertainment expenses and registered a vehicle in the corporation's name.
In response, Fantagio said, "The past one-person corporation was established for activities related to theater production," and added, "It was by no means established for the purpose of intentional tax reduction or tax evasion. After transferring to Fantagio, actual business activities ceased about a year ago. We are in the process of closing the business according to relevant laws and procedures."
Meanwhile, Kim Seon-ho appeared in Netflix's 'Is This Love Translatable?' He is scheduled to appear this year in TVING's 'In the Net', Disney+'s 'Portraits of Delusion' and tvN's 'May the lawmaker be protected', among others.
