A surprise update on actor Park Shin-yang, who had been surrounded by retirement rumors, has been revealed.
Singer Sung Si Kyung posted several photos on his social media on the afternoon of the 3rd along with the message, "Tomorrow at 6 p.m. senior Park Shin-yang will be appearing. I was such a fan and it was my first time meeting him so I was nervous, but it was an enjoyable occasion."
Sung Si Kyung went on to explain about the meeting with Park Shin-yang, saying, "How should I put it, someone who has done the very thing we all know we should do but avoid because it's bothersome and difficult, who has not avoided looking fully at themselves inside and has practiced that for a very long time," and "It felt like a meeting that, not as senior and junior in the entertainment industry but as one human being, made me think a lot and feel many things."
Sung Si Kyung also shared an anecdote, saying, "I plan to visit the exhibition starting March 6 as well. He said he likes Korean meat, so I made galbijjim and used that broth to make sujimuuguk, but we talked so much I barely ate.. I ended up finishing it all the next day."
The released photos contained two-shots of Park Shin-yang and Sung Si Kyung. Wearing an apron, Sung Si Kyung leaned his body toward Park Shin-yang, propped his chin on his hand and posed. Park Shin-yang also smiled brightly at the camera. In front of them were dishes that Sung Si Kyung had made himself. As if to confirm the pleasant atmosphere of the meeting, both wore bright expressions.
Park Shin-yang is currently active as a painter in his 13th year. Although his acting activities were suspended in recent years and "retirement rumors" surfaced, he recently appeared on YouTube and said, "There is no retirement for actors. You can appear whenever a role fits your age, situation and role."
Park Shin-yang is currently preparing for a solo exhibition in Seoul.
