Actors Zendaya and Robert Pattinson instantly captured global fans' hearts with the official poster for their new film "The Drama".
In the released poster the two appear as bride and groom on their wedding day, looking at each other with bright smiles. Zendaya added elegance with a classic wedding dress featuring a daring neckline and a veil, and Pattinson radiated dandy charm in a neat tuxedo.
The film depicts a couple about to be married whose relationship is tested by an unexpected event, throwing the wedding week into turmoil. Zendaya plays bookstore employee "Emma Howe" from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and Pattinson plays museum director "Charlie Thompson" from London.
The teaser poster released alongside it is also drawing attention. In one image Zendaya has an anxious expression, and in another Pattinson appears bleeding from the nose wearing a bloodstained shirt, hinting at a dramatic twist. After Zendaya shared the poster on social media, fans reacted enthusiastically with comments such as "definitely the movie of the year" and "I thought it was a real wedding announcement."
The film was directed by Norwegian director Christopher Bogli. Filming took place in Boston, New York and Los Angeles, and about $2.9 million was reportedly spent on the Louisiana location. The release date is April 3.
Meanwhile, in a recent interview Zendaya mentioned living in London with her fiancé, actor Tom Holland, calling him "the person I love most and the best partner to work with." The two met through the film Spider-Man: Homecoming and will co-star in The Odyssey this summer.
