Group Blackpink showcased overwhelming global influence by adding another 1.5 billion-view music video ahead of the release of mini album 3 [DEADLINE].
On the 2nd, according to YG Entertainment, Blackpink's "As If It's Your Last" music video surpassed 1.5 billion views on YouTube at around 2:57 a.m. that day. It was about 8 years and 7 months since it was released on June 22, 2017.
With this, Blackpink now has a total of five videos with more than 1.5 billion views. Previously, the music videos for "DDU-DU DDU-DU" (2.3 billion views), "Kill This Love" (2.1 billion views), and "Boombayah" (1.8 billion views), and the dance video for "How You Like That" (1.9 billion views) had reached the same view counts.
Blackpink, which has produced a total of 50 videos with over 100 million views on YouTube to date, reigns as the "YouTube queen," continuing an unmatched record run. Their channel subscriber count is the highest among artists worldwide at 99.7 million, and cumulative views have surpassed 41.1 billion.
"As If It's Your Last" is a dance song characterized by an addictive lead synth and romantic lyrics. The song reached No. 1 on iTunes song charts in 74 countries, including the United States and the United Kingdom, and topped the worldwide chart. That year it was also selected as the "most beloved K-pop video worldwide."
Blackpink recently concluded a successful world tour, "BLACKPINK WORLD TOUR 'DEADLINE'," spanning 16 cities and 33 shows. They solidified their "world-class" status by selling out major city stadiums worldwide, including becoming the first K-pop female artist to perform at London's Wembley Stadium.
