The MBC new Friday-Saturday drama In Your Radiant Season, scheduled to premiere on the 20th (planning Namgung Seong-woo, screenplay Jo Seong-hee, directed by Jeong Sang-hee and Kim Young-jae), tells the story of a man named 'Chan' who lives every day like an exciting summer vacation and a woman named 'Ran' who has locked herself in winter, who meet as if by fate and awaken frozen time with an unpredictable "Chanran" romance.
The drama's other central axis, the "Nana family," conveys life after injury and the true meaning of family through the story of three sisters who have endured life in their own ways after an accident that destroyed the bonds of family—Song Ha-ran (played by Lee Sung-kyoung), Song Ha-young (played by Han Ji-hyun), Song Ha-dam (played by Oh Yeju)—and their grandmother Kim Nana (played by Lee Mi-Sook).
Kim Nana, played by Lee Mi-Sook, is a first-generation designer who represents Korea's fashion world and the head of "Nana Atelier." She is a perfectionist who allows no margin for error, but behind that coolness lies a strong sense of responsibility and resolve to protect her three granddaughters. Having lost her child before her eyes, Nana protects her granddaughters with strict discipline and responsibility instead of warm consolation.
Lee Sung-kyoung plays the eldest sister, Song Ha-ran. Ha-ran is a character who has controlled her emotions by immersing herself in work to rebuild her life after it collapsed in an instant. Under her grandmother's strict expectations, she grew into the lead designer at "Nana Atelier," but she lives defensively, allowing no one into her domain so she will never be hurt again.
Meanwhile, Han Ji-hyun plays the second sister, Song Ha-young, a junior designer on Nana Atelier's Design Team 1, who has a cheerful and forthright personality. She is like a vitamin who constantly lightens the heavy atmosphere at home, always smiling and playful, but beneath that is the realistic face of a second sister who harbors deeper wounds than anyone.
Oh Yeju plays the youngest sister, Song Ha-dam, portraying everything from a cute and dependable youngest sibling to an inner coming-of-age story that conceals wounds. To her grandmother she is a perfect 100-point granddaughter and to her two older sisters a lovable sibling, but she grew up making herself tough earlier than her peers so she would not be seen as a "pitiful child." Her first wandering becomes the trigger that cracks the long-maintained balance of the family's world.
In this way, In Your Radiant Season promises warm emotion and immersion through a narrative of healing and reconciliation centered on the Nana family. It raises curiosity about what ripple effects will be created by the moments of change and choice the Nana family, who have protected each other in their own ways, will face.
