Broadcaster Hong Seok-cheon opened up about a past real estate scam he fell victim to.
On the 30th of last month, a video titled "Binge eating in the new year! Hong Seok-cheon & Lee Won-il, exhausted from eating, finally apologize to the nation" was posted on the YouTube channel "Hong Seok-cheon Lee Won-il."
The two arrived at Yeongcheon Market near Dongnimmun. Hong Seok-cheon said, "I have never been to Yeongcheon Market before," and opened up, "Actually, there is a story of mine here."
Hong Seok-cheon said, "I once bought a house near here. I paid 100 million won for it. A real estate agent told me they would give me 200 million won. I kept it for 10 years, so I sold it."
Lee Won-il said, "If you say you sold something, it usually means the golden age is coming soon," expressing anticipation for the next story.
Hong Seok-cheon said in frustration, "A week later another real estate agent called and said they would give 550 million won. That real estate agent deceived me. They had a redevelopment confirmed but didn't tell me about it."
He went on, "That apartment is here, and now it's 3 billion won," which greatly surprised Lee Won-il. He added, "I wouldn't even urinate in this direction."
