Actor Lee Ji-hoon and his wife Ayane shared an update that they are focusing on early education for their daughter.
On the 30th, a video titled "Daily life of an 18-month-old who doesn't attend daycare (culture center, home lessons, etc.)" was uploaded to the "Lee Ji-hoon Ayane's Jia Life" channel.
That day Ayane played flash cards with their daughter Ru-hee. She said, "I really find this rewarding. But if she truly dislikes it, I wouldn't make her do it, but she likes it so much now I can't not do it anymore."
The next day Ayane explained, "Today is Wednesday. There are two things the teacher who comes to the house teaches Ru on Wednesdays. Usually in the mornings my sister and our older brother watch her, but on Wednesdays they come up to our room at 9 a.m. and do two lessons there. But since Ru-hee isn't going to daycare right now, staying at home at 18 months can be really boring. And because it's winter it's not great to walk outside all the time, so I'm currently taking four classes."
He said, "The first is sensory play, the second is flash cards, the third is going to a play facility for physical education class, and the last is not an English class with an English teacher but play using toys at home taught in English by a teacher. We're doing these four things."
She continued, "There was a time when we had an aunt living with us. She injured her wrist and couldn't do childcare at all, so she helped out, but after she left I kept watching her and thought I also want to rest even for an hour, and if I create an environment where someone else takes care of her it would help her adapt to daycare later, so we've been doing these four things for about four months now."
Ayane expressed satisfaction, "I'm satisfied with all the classes right now. She especially loves flash cards. I've done this since I was young and the child also loves it and always clamors for lessons. I do them, but I can't be like the teacher. Since it's Wednesday today, we do sensory play class and flash card class."
Afterward, Ru-hee showed astonishing concentration in class. Meanwhile Ayane revealed footage of visiting a play facility with Ru-hee. She said, "We take one physical education class there and a few times a week they open the play facility. We came to play and the playground changes every week. So even though it's the same place you can play differently. Today we tried a different branch so it felt new and she naps after playing like this. You have to play with her in the morning. So we make difficult reservations each week to come."
On the way home after playing at the play facility, Ayane worried, "Today she went out for the first time like this. It was our first time at that playground. Even though I've been registered for three months, we never used it and this is our first time, and it seems really good. It's great to meet new friends, but it takes about 15 minutes to go back and forth from our house. She fell asleep briefly during that time, about three minutes, but Ru-hee will never sleep here; she has to go to bed in her bed, and if she falls asleep here and we move her to the bed she absolutely won't sleep. How not to let her sleep is the most important thing. The key is how to wake her when she's dozing in the car."
Ultimately she failed to nap, and exhausted by Ru-hee, Ayane complained, "Anyway, she's very determined about what she wants to do," adding, "So I hope she goes to daycare soon. They say she sleeps so well at daycare. On nap days it's really peaceful, but if the nap schedule isn't kept..."
Meanwhile, Lee Ji-hoon married Japanese wife Miura Ayane, who is 14 years younger, in 2021 and they welcomed their first daughter Ru-hee in 2024.
