KBS2 'Immortal Songs' (directed by Kim Hyung-seok and Choi Seung-beom / hereafter 'Immortal Songs') is the undisputed top music variety program that has continued its history for more than 700 episodes. The 742nd episode, airing today (31st), is presented as the '2026 Oh My Star' special. The 'Oh My Star' special is an original series of 'Immortal Songs' that has run since 2021 and is a popular special that has thrilled viewers with spectacular stages featuring senior and junior artists from the music industry.

Amid this, WOODZ attracted attention by expressing his feelings about returning to 'Immortal Songs.' While serving in the military, WOODZ's performance of 'Drowning' on 'Immortal Songs - 2024 Armed Forces Day special' surpassed 26.32 million views and dominated various music charts, firmly establishing him as an icon of reverse-charting. Reflecting on that time, WOODZ said, "Back then, it was mostly feeling the reaction through officers' 'I'm watching you' deokdam." He added, "There were many things I wanted to do after leaving the military, but I couldn't, so there was regret." He also expressed gratitude, saying, "I've been stacking up the things I wanted to do after discharge and now I'm running. Thanks to 'Immortal Songs,' I'm experiencing moments in life I never have before." Chan-won, who proudly watched WOODZ's return, said, "Although WOODZ and I had different service numbers and served in different units, I feel comradeship with him," eliciting laughter, according to reports.
Meanwhile, an unexpected victim emerged amid WOODZ's reverse-charting legend, drawing attention. Jung Seung-hwan complained, "I actually also appeared on the 'Armed Forces Day special.' I did a duet with WOODZ, but I ended up being completely overshadowed." Joking that "I'm not jealous of the reverse-charting. If I say I'm jealous, it really feels like losing," Jung Seung-hwan then shrugged and said, "There is a reason I really wasn't jealous.
