When her mother approached during the talk about her daughter, Kim Kwang-kyu asked how it felt to get slapped in the scene from "Stairway to Heaven." Park Shin-hye's mother said, "When I read the script and saw there was a scene where she gets slapped, seeing her actually get slapped made me stop watching 'Stairway to Heaven' from then on."
Park Shin-hye said she was about 30 at the time of filming. Her mother said, "But she didn't tell us at home that she had been hit like that, so because she didn't say anything we didn't know she was having a hard time outside. Much later the managers told us that this had happened in that situation. It was so heartbreaking," she said sadly.
Her mother added, "When you're young you get scolded a lot, don't you? Because it was her first time. She said she never cried in front of them. She would go to the bathroom, cry, wipe her tears and come out. The director was said to be a bit harsh," she revealed.
When Lee Seo-jin said, "You don't have to see that director," Park Shin-hye's mother defused it by saying, "Because those people were there, Shin-hye is here now." Lee Seo-jin then joked, "Now Shin-hye mostly plays the one who hits others," which drew laughter.
