Basketball player Lee Kwan-hee apologized directly to Hong Jin Kyung amid controversy over a rude remark about Hong Jin Kyung.
On the 31st, Hong Jin Kyung posted on her social media, "#Single's Inferno #apologyhell lol," and released the text messages she exchanged with Lee Kwan-hee.
According to the released messages, Lee Kwan-hee said, "She is a sister I really like, and I am sorry for creating this controversy because of my mistake. I said something to be funny that seems to have hurt her, and I am reflecting a lot," and added, "I don't mind being criticized, but I hope nothing would ever upset her heart. I apologize once again," conveying his apology.
In response, Hong Jin Kyung replied, "Kwan-hee, you called yesterday and even texted today. Oh really, stop apologizing! I also make many unintentional verbal mistakes while on broadcasts... it's fine," and added, "You quickly come out as a real genius and teach basketball~ now stop apologizing~ have a good day," showing magnanimity.
Later Lee Kwan-hee added, "If you need anything from now on, please contact me anytime. Thank you for accepting my apology with a generous heart."
Earlier, on the 27th he posted a video on his YouTube channel showing him watching 'Single's Inferno 5'.
While watching the video, Lee Kwan-hee heard MC Hong Jin Kyung and said, "I wanted to say this: I think Jin-kyung nuna doesn't know much about dating, and I'm angry that she is giving dating advice there."
He continued, "In my opinion, Hanhae, Dex, and sister Da-hye are all credible. But honestly, I can't understand Jin-kyung nuna. I don't think she is better at dating than me," and again targeted her, saying, "Jin-kyung nuna, please do better, it's not fun," sparking controversy.
As public criticism intensified, Lee Kwan-hee ultimately deleted the video.
