Actor Lee Da-hee praised the high quality of the breads featured in "Cheonha Bakery."
On the afternoon of the 30th at the Stanford Hotel in Sangam-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul, MBN held a press conference for its new entertainment program "Cheonha Bakery: Bake Your Dream." The press conference was attended by PD Yoon Se-young as well as MCs and judges Lee Da-hee, Noh Hee-young, Lee Seok-won, Kwon Sung-joon and Mimi, who shared their thoughts.
"Cheonha Bakery" is the country's first "K-bakery survival" that leads the craze for "K-bread," which has become a trend beyond mild foods, selecting the world's best pastry and baking masters. From masters gathered from across the nation to world-class patissiers and underground bakers with ingenious recipes, a massive global pastry and baking competition featuring 72 bakers and pastry chefs from around the world will remove ranks and compete, spreading the power of "K-bread" that will astonish the world in the first half of 2026.
When asked why he cast Lee Da-hee as MC, PD Yoon Se-young said, "Lee Da-hee has served as MC on prominent programs. Kingdom as well, and her hosting ability has been recognized. Because a baking survival program is being produced for the first time domestically, we wanted to find a new figure in food programming. Though it is a survival program, we wondered what kind of host would make the food aspect feel new and fresh. Considering many people, I thought Lee Da-hee was perfect."
He added, "What surprised me further was that Lee Da-hee personally took classes to learn baking and made tremendous efforts to understand bread. When we selected the MC we didn't sense that level of sincerity, but working together I was grateful to see that she approached the program with all her own thoughts rather than just as a job. Mimi also ate well, but I think Lee Da-hee ate even more," he said, surprising attendees.
When asked, "How do you manage your weight?" Lee Da-hee said, "I ate more bread during the recordings than I have in my life. I thought I couldn't fit more in, but I could. Mimi's plate was empty every time I saw her because it was so delicious," adding, "I maintain my figure normally, but during shoots and recordings I eat without restraint. I think the announcer would keep eating if she were on set. It's that tasty," she marveled.
Meanwhile, "Cheonha Bakery" will premiere on Feb. 1 at 9:40 p.m.
