Yeonwoo transforms into a professional female CEO through "Lovephobia."
The new drama "Lovephobia," which will premiere first on Feb. 19 at 11 p.m. on U+mobile tv and Lifetime, (written by Lee Se-ryeong, directed by Wang Hye-ryeong, produced by WEMAD) tells the story of Yoon Bia (played by Yeonwoo), the CEO of a dating app who is more comfortable with AI than with people, and Han Seon-ho (played by Kim Hyun-jin), a romantic novelist and romanticist, who design smart relationships with AI and come to realize the true meaning of love. It will be available first via U+mobile tv VOD.
In the drama, Yeonwoo plays Yoon Bia, the CEO of the AI dating app "It's You." Bia is a character who always seeks efficiency and perfection; she maintains the confident and haughty image of a CEO but harbors a private secret of being unable to spend more than an hour with another person. By chance, she becomes entangled with Han Seon-ho, an idol of the romance novel world who has a personality completely opposite to hers.
In the stills first released on the 29th, Yeonwoo completely immersed herself in the character of Yoon Bia, capturing the attention of prospective viewers. With a blunt bob and an excellent suit fit, she not only expressed the role of a competent CEO but amplified expectations for the character Yoon Bia, who combines beauty and ability, through haughty eye contact and confident poses.
By contrast, in another still Yoon Bia looks as if she might collapse at any moment, sending a look of shock that evokes sympathy. As the head of a company who always maintained a strong heart, curiosity grows over what has caused her to show such bewilderment. Attention is focused on the narrative of Yoon Bia in "Lovephobia," which Yeonwoo, who has established herself as an actor who crosses genres through solid acting skills, will portray.
"Lovephobia" is a sci-fi romantic comedy that breaks away from the typical framework of romantic dramas by combining the unique subject of AI. Director Wang Hye-ryeong, who proved her stylish and witty directing through "Transaction," "Youth Blossom," and "I Will Get Off, Earth," and writer Lee Se-ryeong, who has been recognized for delicate writing through works such as "Love Broken" and "Summer, Please" have joined forces to generate anticipation.
The new drama "Lovephobia," which is expected to showcase Yeonwoo's transformation, is produced by WEMAD and will be released on Feb. 19 at 11 p.m. on U+mobile tv and Lifetime.
