Lee Sang Yi showed the demeanor of a customer service representative befitting someone from the Korea National University of Arts.
On the 29th, the tvN variety show 'Bogum Magical' press conference was held online. The event was attended by PD Son Su-jeong, Park Bo Gum, Lee Sang Yi, and Kwak Dong- yeon.
'Bogum Magical' is a program that follows Park Bo Gum, who holds a national groomer license, his close friend Lee Sang Yi, and Kwak Dong-yeon as they run a special barbershop in a remote rural village that trims both hair and the heart.
Park Bo Gum will serve as the hair stylist, Lee Sang Yi will be in charge of customer service, and Kwak Dong- yeon will serve as the cook. In particular, the three brothers prepared 'Bogum Magical' for about a year and participated in selecting the show's starting location, remodeling, and interior design, which has raised even more expectations.
That day Lee Sang Yi humbly said, "I was in charge of customer service and nail and hand care. Honestly, I don't think I did much customer service. I just chatted."
Lee Sang Yi explained, "From the day the village residents came, they welcomed us so warmly that it was nice. While there is customer service, I wondered what I could do inside the barbershop this time, and I wanted to learn nails, so I took on the nail role."
He added with a laugh, "I prepared and learned nails, but I can't tell you whether I passed or failed. I don't know how much the broadcast has been edited, but please watch."
When asked what he considered important while working, Lee Sang Yi reflected, "I didn't want to make customers uncomfortable. Of course it's a variety show, but we were actually open for business. For that time, we were not actors or anything like that, but acted as barbers and chefs, so we tried to avoid making people uncomfortable and to identify their needs as much as possible."
Hearing this, Kwak Dong- yeon said, "His strength is that he makes people genuinely comfortable, adjusting his age to suit anyone from 5 to 95. Sometimes he spoke like an 80-year-old grandfather. Sometimes he spoke like a 5-year-old. I thought people who comprehensively study the arts really are different," and referenced the Korea National University of Arts, drawing laughs.
