KBS2's new daily drama "Red Pearl", scheduled to premiere at 7:50 p.m. on Feb. 23, (writer Kim Seo-jung, director Kim Seong-geun, produced by DK E&M, Monster Union) is a work that depicts a meticulous and intense chronicle of revenge in which two women who returned under false identities uncover the Adelle family's hidden sins and the truth.
The "Danhee teaser" released on the 29th concisely contains the image of Kim Danhee (Park Jin Hee), who decided to live the life of her sister Kim Myunghee (Park Jin Hee). Kim Danhee's precarious appearance standing on the rooftop of a tall building in a patient's gown captures attention from the start.
Moments later, emitting a chilly charisma, Kim Danhee, who has transformed 180 degrees, declares to Oh Jeongran (Kim Hee-jeong) "The dead woman has come back to life." Danhee also stares at Adelle Group Chairman Park Taeho (Choi Jae-sung) with the words "for you," piquing curiosity about their adversarial relationship.
Next, scenes alternate showing Kim Danhee crying on a bridge, Park Taeho boasting intimidation while saying "You will pay dearly for underestimating me," Oh Jeongran anxiously moving by car, and Kim Myunghee (Park Jin Hee) being hurriedly transported to a hospital, hinting that Danhee's blade of revenge is aimed at the two.
The passage in which Kim Danhee, mourning in front of her sister's memorial altar, vows "I will live Kim Myunghee's time" foreshadows her hardened course of action after deciding to live in her sister's identity for revenge, increasing anticipation for the broadcast.
"Red Pearl" is directed by Kim Seong-geun, who showcased sensitive directing in numerous works such as "My Merry Marriage", "Udtangtang Family" and "It's Beautiful Now", and the script is by Kim Seo-jung, who has solid writing skills. In addition, Park Jin Hee and Nam Sang-ji are raising prospective viewers' expectations with their striking transformations.
