Broadcaster-turned-host Park Ji-yoon and Choi Dong-seok's cross lawsuits over an alleged affair were dismissed, while the ruling related to the divorce lawsuit has not yet been issued.
On the 29th, according to legal sources, the Jeju District Court Family Division 2 single judge dismissed on the 27th, at the sentencing date, the claim for damages for consolation money for an adulterer filed by Choi Dong-seok against Park Ji-yoon and Mr. A, and also dismissed the suit of the same purport filed by Park Ji-yoon against Choi Dong-seok's acquaintance Mr. B.
KBS announcer colleagues Park Ji-yoon and Choi Dong-seok married in 2009 and had one son and one daughter, but they filed for divorce mediation in court in 2023 and split after 14 years of marriage. Since then, the two have exchanged revelations and engaged in a mudslinging fight, during which they pursued cross lawsuits over the alleged affair.
Park Ji-yoon first filed the adulterer lawsuit in July 2024, after which Choi Dong-seok also filed an adulterer lawsuit. Choi Dong-seok said, "There was absolutely no illegal activity during my marriage to Park Ji-yoon, and we will respond strongly to defamation based on falsehoods," and Park Ji-yoon denied, "There was no infidelity or romantic relationship with anyone other than my spouse during the marriage period or during the subsequent litigation."
The court consolidated the two cases for trial, closed arguments in November last year, and on the 27th at the sentencing date dismissed the claims filed by both sides. Separate from the adulterer lawsuits, the ruling related to the divorce lawsuit between Park Ji-yoon and Choi Dong-seok has not yet been made.
