A chill was thrown on the rekindling atmosphere between broadcaster Ham So-won and her ex-husband Jin Hua by Jin Hua's mother.
Recently MBN's variety program "Sokpulishow Dongchimi" released a teaser video titled "That doesn't look like a divorced couple — has Jin Hua changed?".
In the video, when Jin Hua asks Ham So-won, "Are you going to do the dishes?", he stepped in saying, "You cooked, so I'll do the dishes," and Ham So-won smiled saying, "Thanks. You've really changed a lot." Jin Hua made Ham So-won feel good by saying, "We're both changing and making an effort."
Moved by Jin Hua's doing the dishes, Ham So-won patted his shoulder and said, "Thank you," and their physical affection came across naturally, attracting attention. In the studio, viewers reacted with comments such as "That doesn't look like a divorced couple" and "The physical affection is very natural."
In the teaser video released with it, titled "Jin Hua's mother orders the son, who is living with someone after the divorce?! Come back to China immediately," Jin Hua's mother is shown scolding him. Not knowing that Jin Hua was staying at Ham So-won's house, his mother asked, "Did you go to Korea again? Exactly where are you?" After learning he was at Ham So-won's house, she said, "Why do you keep being there? What are you doing there? If you two are divorced, shouldn't you live as divorced people? The two of you have incompatible personalities and can't be together. It won't last long."
In particular, Jin Hua's mother asked, "Are you two going to reconcile?" Jin Hua replied, "It's not that we're reconciling; I come to see the child, eat together and play with them." Jin Hua's mother said, "You shouldn't block each other's futures," expressing she wanted a fresh start rather than reconciliation. In response, Jin Hua reacted irritably, saying, "It's our business; it's not something for you to worry about."
Seeing this, the studio expressed sympathy with reactions such as "From a mother's perspective, that could be understandable" and "It seems like a brake will be applied to the reconciliation."
Ham So-won and Jin Hua married in 2017. The two, who have one daughter, appeared on TV Chosun's "Taste of Wife" and other programs but left amid lying controversies. They announced their divorce in 2022 but recently revealed scenes of cohabitation.
